CONTEXT
The Warehouse / Despatch Team leader is based at the Peacemarsh site and reports to the Warehouse Supervisor. The role will be responsible for a team of approximately 5 – 8 people working across warehouse and dispatch areas.
OVERALL JOB PURPOSE
The team leader will be responsible for the general supervision of his team ensuring that priorities for the day are met and that the appropriate levels of quality, accuracy and timeliness are met at all times.
The role will also be responsible for the day to day safety and welfare of the team.
The role is a direct role and will be expected to complete activities that team perform and step into team role when necessary in the event of absence or increases in demand.
Stock accuracy is a fundamental requirement of this role and the candidate will be expected to champion this key area.
This includes keeping the warehouse and dispatch areas clean, tidy and safe and ensuring the proper disposal of waste and recyclable materials.
It is a requirement for this role that a current license is held for all MHE equipment used in Warehouse & Despatch Areas.
The candidate will need to be a Key user of our core business system – SAGE Line 500
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
General Duties
Daily allocation of tasks and prioritisation as needed by team. Where necessary review during shift if priorities change.
To complete regular safety audits.
To ensure areas of responsibility are clean & tidy and that waste is re-cycled is the appropriate manner.
To work with the Stock Controller to ensure stock and location accuracy with in the Sage system.
To update the daily and weekly KPI’s.
Warehouse Duties
To ensure all materials managed via. Min / max are replenished in a timely manner.
To complete daily PI checks and participate in full stock taking where directed.
To maintain accurate stock recording of all off site warehouses.
To control the movement of finished goods from the Filling & Packing area to the warehouse.
To manage the stock replenishment of the dispatch pick location.
To oversee the pre-kitting of stock for the Filling & Packing area.
Dispatch Duties
To ensure all orders are accurately picked, on time and to required standards.
To ensure for all deliveries to be loaded on to couriers have the correct paperwork and delivery details.
Liaising with sales and couriers on any delivery discrepancies and putting in place actions to rectify errors.
To complete a gray list with sales support each day.

3. Health & Safety
·To take reasonable care for your own health and safety and of other people affected by your actions, especially in relation to the fork lift.
·To comply with NYR’s Health and Safety procedures e.g. first aid, fire, COSHH, manual handling, etc.
·To comply with regulations and NYR policy regarding the wearing of personal protective equipment.
·To ensure that the correct lifting and access equipment is used appropriately.
·To report health and safety risks and hazards to the Supervisor or another appropriate member of NYR staff.
·To cooperate with your supervisor when risk assessments are being conducted and to implement any changes made as a result of risk assessments.
SPECIAL CHARACTERISTICS
§The job roles are based in the warehouse area, which can be cold in winter.Also the team members will need to work outside when moving between the warehouse and the recycling area and when dealing with delivery and dispatch vehicles.
§Product is picked from racking which requires use of mobile steps.The post-holders must be agile and have a head for heights.
§Due to the nature of the role the Dispatch Team leader may be required to work outside normal hours to ensure deliveries are completed in time.
